EDGE ARCHITECTURE REVIEW · 30 MINUTES · NO PITCH

Book an Edge Architecture Review with a Pervasive Systems solutions engineer.

A focused 30-minute working session for engineering and operations leaders evaluating edge-to-cloud platforms. Bring your topology, your firmware pain points, and your fleet-scale questions — leave with a written architectural direction and a realistic deployment timeline.

WHO PICKS UP · AGENDA · WHAT TO BRING

Who you'll spend 30 minutes with — and what they'll ask you.

This is a peer-level technical conversation between your engineers and ours, not a sales discovery call. The person on the other end of the line ships edge firmware for a living.

THE ENGINEER

A solutions engineer, not an SDR.

You'll be matched with a solutions engineer from our Boulder, Munich, or Singapore teams — most have shipped firmware on the same SoM families you're evaluating. They've read your pre-call questionnaire before the call starts, so the first five minutes are context, not introductions.

  • DISCIPLINE Embedded firmware / edge AI / fleet orchestration
  • TYPICAL BACKGROUND Ex-Bosch, Intel, NASA JPL (Boulder office); industry hires in Munich & Singapore
  • CALLS PER WEEK ~6 architecture reviews · no pipeline quotas
  • POST-CALL DELIVERABLE Written architecture sketch + risk register (PDF, ~4 pages)

THE 30 MINUTES

A typical agenda, end-to-end.

  1. 00:00 – 03:00

    Context setting

Your team walks through the operation: site count, sensor mix, current firmware ownership, what's blocking scale.

  2. 03:00 – 12:00

    Topology & constraints

Power budget, connectivity, regulatory environment (IEC 62443, ITAR if relevant), and the systems you need to interoperate with — MES, historian, control plane.

  3. 12:00 – 22:00

    Pervasive Systems fit

Our engineer walks through how PEL, the Edge Orchestrator, and the Device Cloud map to your constraints — referencing the 27-country deployment footprint and the 14-week benchmark.

  4. 22:00 – 30:00

    Next step & ownership

Agreed follow-up: a deeper technical workshop, a paid POC on your hardware, or — if we're not a fit — a written explanation of why.

PRE-CALL QUESTIONNAIRE

What we'll send you 24 hours before.

So the call is a conversation and not an intake interview, we'll email a four-question brief. Filling it out takes about 12 minutes.

  • Hardware profile — SoM / SBC / custom board, expected node count, and the top three sites you're targeting first.
  • Connectivity reality — what your worst-connected site looks like, including uplink type and bandwidth.
  • Compliance scope — IEC 62443, NERC CIP, FDA, ITAR, or none. We'll route to the right engineer.
  • Decision state — are you comparing vendors, scoping a POC, or finalizing a single supplier?

No questionnaire returned = no call. We reschedule rather than waste your time on a generic pitch.

Pre-call deliverables

What you'll leave the call with — five concrete deliverables, not vague "next steps".

Every Edge Architecture Review ends with the same five artifacts in your inbox within 48 hours. If we can't produce at least three of these on the call, the engagement isn't a fit — and we'll tell you.

  1. 01

    Reference architecture sketch

A two-page diagram of your sensor-to-cloud topology annotated with PEL distribution targets, recommended SoM families, and the mesh / cellular / wired segmentation we'd propose for your site. Drawn live during the call, not templated.

  2. 02

    Hardware shortlist

Three to five SoM + carrier board combinations from the 14 families PEL ships pre-validated on — including the 48-hour BSP bring-up estimate for each. We include lifecycle status, lead time, and a BOM rationale so your procurement team has something to react to.

  3. 03

    Onboarding time estimate

A realistic first-production-deployment window for your fleet size, benchmarked against our 14-week average across 212 enterprise accounts — 11 months faster than the 65-week in-house build median from our 2024 customer survey.

  4. 04

    Reference customer intro

A direct introduction to a customer running a comparable workload — same industry vertical, similar fleet scale, ideally a mutual NDA already in place. We don't gate references behind "let me check with marketing"; your solutions engineer brings the intro on the call.

  5. 05

    NDA path & scoping doc

A mutual NDA template (counter-signature in under 72 hours from our legal team in Boulder) and a one-page scope-of-work skeleton — line items, assumptions, exclusions — so you can route it through procurement without translating a marketing deck.

Direct channels

Prefer email, phone, or a visit? Three direct channels, no chatbots.

Calendar tools aren't the only front door. If your procurement, legal, or hardware team needs a different path, these go straight to humans on the Pervasive Systems engineering and operations staff.

Pre-call questions

Common pre-call questions — answered before you book.

The four things enterprise procurement and engineering leadership ask us most often. If your question isn't here, the engineering inbox reaches a human within a business day.

Can we sign an NDA before the call?

Yes — mutual NDA templates are signed and counter-signed in under 72 hours by our legal team in Boulder. Email [email protected] with "NDA" in the subject and we route it the same day. We can also work off your paper; the redline turnaround is typically two business days.

How transparent is pricing?

Fleet-license pricing bands are shared on the call once we understand device count, support tier, and deployment geography — no "request a quote" funnel. The free Pervasive Device Cloud tier covers 100 devices indefinitely and is the same software stack we ship commercially, so you can validate the platform before any commercial conversation.

Do you support incumbent platforms like AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or our proprietary OT stack?

Yes. Pervasive Edge Linux and the Device Cloud ship with reference integrations for AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, and Google Cloud IoT, plus MQTT and OPC UA bridges for proprietary OT stacks. We regularly run side-by-side with customer-deployed platforms rather than replacing them — the conversation is about where the edge stops and the cloud begins.

What's the actual response time after we reach out?

Calendar bookings are confirmed within four business hours during U.S. Mountain Time. Email and contact-form submissions receive a human acknowledgment within one business day, and a substantive technical reply within two. Production-down phone calls route to an on-call solutions engineer immediately during business hours.
